Birmingham International is the UK’s sixth largest Airport, third largest for charter traffic and has the highest proportion of business traffic second only to London Heathrow. In 2006, it handled over nine million passengers through its two terminals and acts as the Midlands’ premier gateway to Europe, Scandinavia, North America, the Middle East and the Indian sub-continent.
Over 50 airlines operate scheduled and charter services to more than 100 destinations including daily departures to New York and a twice daily service to Dubai, together with frequent operations throughout the Indian sub-continent. Its European route network includes as many as 12 departures per day to Edinburgh and Glasgow, 9 daily flights to Paris and Frankfurt as well as regular scheduled services to popular sunspots with low fare airlines.
BIA is one of the most accessible Airports in Europe. It lies at the centre of the UK’s motorway network enabling easy access to all major cities. It is also adjacent to Birmingham International Rail Station, and provides a 90 second, no hassle connection via the Air-Rail Link people mover system into the heart of each transport hub. Birmingham International Station links directly to the national rail network with hourly services to Central London, which is only 76 minutes away.
