Owner and CEO Seigo Nakamura started Aburi Restaurants Canada after moving to Vancouver from Japan, where he had 8 successful restaurants. He wanted to bring Aburi (flame seared) Sushi to Canada, and came up with the original idea of combining French influenced sauces with Japanese flavours to pair with the fresh seafood available in British Columbia. Years later, Aburi Oshi Sushi is one of the most craved foods in Vancouver. Aburi is the parent company to 7 properties in Canada, including Miku Vancouver & Toronto, Minami Vancouver & Toronto, Aburi TORA, Aburi Hana, and Gyoza Bar. As the corporate hub of the four restaurants, the team at Head Office works hard to support and manage each restaurant, ensuring their success. Aburi prides itself on combining Japanese technique and flavours with local influences to create a new cuisine that appeals to a greater audience. Aburi's "Ningenmi" philosophy incorporates teamwork, trust, and respect, and finding joy in bringing others happiness.
