a.i.r. nyc is a nonprofit organization that employs an evidence-based, data-driven model to serve asthmatic children and adults in New York City. Centered on home-based interventions, a.i.r. nyc's Community Health Workers provide asthma education, environmental assessments, and referrals to related services. a.i.r. nyc's mission is to keep asthmatic children and adults healthy, active, and out of the hospital. We aim to improve the quality of life of asthmatic children and adults, helping families break the revolving cycle of poverty that is worsened by chronic disease. "a.i.r." stands for "asthma intervention and relief." a.i.r. nyc includes borough-specific programs: a.i.r. harlem, a.i.r. bronx, and a.i.r. brooklyn.
