4D is a worldwide leader in software solutions designed to simplify the development and deployment of database applications. 4D develops, supports and markets two database solutions; 4D and Wakanda. The 4D product line is designed to build native standalone or client-server applications for both Mac OS X and Microsoft Windows operating systems and is used by Fortune 500 and small and medium businesses software developers. Wakanda is designed for JavaScript development and is a deployment stack that includes WakandaDB, a NoSQL database, plus a development studio, a JavaScript framework and an HTTP server. Wakanda is used for the development of Web and mobile applications. Its server is available on Mac OS X, Microsoft Windows, and Linux. The supported mobile platforms are iOS, Android and Windows Phone for both phone and tablet devices. Both product lines make development and deployment of database applications faster and easier while increasing data accuracy and enforcing data security. 4D is a privately held company. It was founded in 1984, and has subsidiary offices, distributors and resellers in 70 countries. It currently employs about 140 people in six offices worldwide.
