Jim Winget and Jerry Trimbach established 2J Supply Company Inc. on March 1, 1962, at 2130 E. First Street, Dayton, Ohio. Both of their names began with the letter “J,” so they chose the name 2J Supply Co. Their original logo, which featured two blue jays, was sketched out on a scrap paper piece by a salesman. They both worked in the HVAC trade, and together they spoke of the need for a “distribution house” that focused on contractor needs in Dayton, Ohio.
