📖 Summary
With more than 15 years in the field of systems administration, and many years of experience managing multiple global infrastructures and numerous data centers, I have the ability to design, deploy and maintain software and hardware infrastructures that scale. I have many years of experience supporting, building and scaling highly available, extremely high-bandwidth e-commerce infrastructures that generate hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue for SaaS/PaaS companies. As an automation expert, I focus on automating processes as much as possible, which frees up time to work on bigger projects and reduces over-all operating costs. The way I see it, if you have to log in to individual hosts to perform administration tasks, then you are doing something wrong. With proper automation and monitoring in place, you reduce the risk of human error and reduce the amount of time and resources needed to maintain the environment. I like to take a work-smarter-not-harder approach to systems engineering. I can act as an engineer, administrator or an architect, as well as act in an advisory capacity to a technical or non-technical team or committee. I can educate and train teams of people and can screen and hire teams to manage newly built infrastructures. I also have a great deal of experience managing IT and operations teams and organizing teams for large projects and critical maintenance tasks.
