I am an Electrical Engineering graduate from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo currently working as a Software Engineer at Dolby Laboratories in San Francisco. Software Engineer @ Advanced Technology Group - Sound Tech Platform Development From September 2014 to Present (1 year 4 months) Applications Engineer @ As part of Dolby’s Applications Engineering organization, I work closely with our regionally focused field technical staff (FAEs) to provide engineering and technical support to licensee manufacturers of microprocessors; DSP and SoC integrated circuits; IP Cores and developers of audio codec drivers, media frameworks and software libraries during the implementation and integration of Dolby licensed technologies. I also provide system integration and product development support to licensee product manufacturers with a focus on Mobile/PC devices and other products for consumer E-Media markets.
My primary responsibilities include: answering licensee questions about our technologies and our licensing programs; analyzing test data; helping licensees address any problems that should arise with the performance of their products; tuning licensee devices to meet Dolby’s audio standards; training customers, our field technical teams, and other internal staff on our technologies and licensing programs; participating in creation, review, and upkeep of our licensee technical documentation. I also interact with other cross functional groups within Dolby to resolve licensee technical and licensing issues, provide technical training and business information, and improve Dolby’s testing materials and processes. From December 2012 to Present (3 years 1 month) Graduate Intern @ Interned in National Security Engineering Division of LLNL. Developed and completed Masters project for credit towards MSEE degree. Implemented and tested the performance of multichannel noise reduction algorithms for speaker identification systems. Worked heavily with MATLAB and RAPT-R. Planned and directed a data collection with a team. Presented project findings to director of NSED at end of internship. From June 2011 to December 2011 (7 months) Broadcast Audio Intern @ Interned in Products and Technology Division of Dolby. Developed FPGA code for an OEM card and its test fixture. Upgraded an A/V signal distribution system for one floor. Modified schematics on Dx Designer. Fabricated coaxial cables. Various technician assignments. Completed all assigned tasks with minimal supervision. From June 2010 to September 2010 (4 months) San Francisco Bay AreaCaffino Team Member/Barista @ Member of 2-3 person team responsible for taking orders and making and serving a variety of drinks. Operate cash register; provide customer service; calculate sales reports. Shift leader responsible for all store operations when owner not on premises. Trained and evaluated new employees.
