I am keen to gather and be part of a team of skilled people to participate in projects that make a product involving both hard and software that significantly help people in their lives. To figure out what is the problem and formulate a solution for that and make sure that solution is implemented in such a clear way that if somewhere in the future somebody needs to do some works, he can do it just easily with the materials delivered, not needing the original people.
Specialties: computer vision, 2.5D camera's, robotics, entrepreneurship, project management
Software Engineer @ From December 2014 to Present (11 months) Eindhoven Area, NetherlandsEmbedded Software Engineer / Product Engineer @ The first year was mostly maintenance on the milking robot. Focus often on the communication between devices, for example to improve the reliability of the communication.
In the second year the team split and work focussed on new development. The companies desire to improve hardware giving a chance to replace legacy software with new easily maintainable components. Investigated the existing interface that needed to remain, cooperated in the design and implementation of the components and been for a while the lead engineer of the component.
Supported the vision algorithm developer as sparring partner and to help convert the Matlab code to c++. From September 2011 to 2014 (3 years) Rotterdam Area, Netherlandsintern for master project @ Creating and performing a benchmark of optical 3D sensing technologies to be used in a wide range of fields from robotic manipulators to consumer lifestyle and health systems or gesture control.
Graduation report: http://alexandria.tue.nl/extra1/afstversl/wsk-i/belgraver2011.pdf From November 2010 to July 2011 (9 months) HTC Eindhoven, Netherlandsintern @ Extending the development of a robot arm to be mounted on wheelchairs and then specifically working on the control part of this. Converting an Inverse Kinematics algorithm from matlab to c. Studying the extension to path-planning, compared different algorithms and gave conclusions which might be suitable.
Investigating if the system could also work with a cheap stereo set instead. Made a first demonstration to show the existing segmentation system could work with this stereo camera. From July 2010 to October 2010 (4 months) HTC Eindhoven, NetherlandsDeveloper @ Development of extensions, bug fixes, development of test material(database fillings, messages) and performing tests on a Java based web application for municipalities designed to maintain the BAG(Basisregistraties Adressen en Gebouwen / Registration addresses and buildings) and WKPB (Wet kenbaarheid publiekrechtelijke beperkingen onroerende zaken / Disclosure of Public Law restrictions on property ) and communicate changes to the LV (landelijke voorziening / national registration). From April 2008 to June 2010 (2 years 3 months) Student Project Manager @ As a master student, I lead a team of bachelor students, developing a web based scheduling program to replace an outdated and unpractical older system for their bachelor software engineering project From September 2009 to January 2010 (5 months) Student @ Together with 7 other students, I did my bachelors final software engineering project at Sagantec. The assignment was to formalize their file structures and make software to check and convert existing files.
These projects follow the ESA software engineering standard and I have mostly been involved in the quality assurance documents. From January 2007 to July 2007 (7 months)
