Led a major programme of integration following the acquisition of Groupama Insurances by Ageas UK in 2012, a programme which was the winner of the Transformational Deal of the Year Award at British Insurance Awards 2014 and included successful completion of Part VII Transfer of Groupama Insurance Company Limited into Ageas Insurance Limited and the rebranding of former Groupama assets to Ageas, ahead of original planned date and at significantly lower cost than originally provisioned. Undertook a complete review of Ageas telematics/UBI capabilities and competencies, assessing these against developments in the market and putting forward a set of recommendations to greatly enhance Ageas’s position. Further developing this by bringing together a number of disparate initiatives to create a unified Ageas UK telematics strategy, solution landscape and programme for delivery across the various operating companies in the UK. From April 2013 to September 2015 (2 years 6 months) Chief Information Officer @ Invited at an early stage to join this innovative telematics (‘pay how you drive’) insurance enterprise designed and set up as a managing general agency with risk carrying capacity provided by a ‘blue chip’ international insurer.. • Owned and managed the ICT budget (+ £6m per annum). Contributed pivotally over 3 years to establishing the Company as the UK’s leading player in the telematics based market, now providing c75% of telematics-based car policies in the UK. Created the initial vision and blue-print for the business, with the objective of achieving full trading within 12 months of start-up, and a requirement to attract underwriting to the new enterprise. Responsible for setting up the entire ICT function, including a full suite of ICT related strategies and for personally leading and programme managing the build and implementation of an efficient e-business platform and underpinning application architecture involving the integration of multiple vendor packages in addition to both in-house and outsourced bespoke development, also putting in place management disciplines based on PRINCE2 principles. Board Member of Box Innovation Group (holding company) and Insure TheBox Limited (trading company). From June 2009 to June 2012 (3 years 1 month) Solutions Director @ Responsible for the design and implementation of business transformation solutions and systems to underpin, support and assist in the growth of Capita’s general insurance operation: Held a number of Steering Group and Senior Management Team roles, reporting into the Division Board. Responsible for managing a team of up to 70 technical staff. Key role in winning a £300million new contract by collaborating with Cap Gemini to design and implement a multi-channel policy sales and claims management solution for Abbey National’s insurance operation. Project budget of c£40m. As Programme Manager, delivered the later releases of the Abbey National programme, including all data conversion from legacy systems (around 1million records), on time and within agreed budgets.
