From December 2013 to Present (2 years 1 month) Project Manager @ IT Project Management From June 2013 to December 2013 (7 months) Programme Manager @ • Led a team of eight Project Managers to manage a Major Claims Indemnity Programme covering Claims Fraud, Leakage, Litigation Avoidance and Household Claims Tool for Loss Adjusters with a budget of £10m. Resulted in Claims Indemnity savings of £58m.
• Directed a team of Project Managers and Developers to build an administration system, web front end and associated infrastructure to enable New Business sales and the migration of £750k policies for the Tesco Pet Programme. The migrations exceeded retention targets and required sales targets were achieved.
• Managed the IS function for the Pet business of over 20 projects and delivered increased processing capability of 100% enabling the pet portfolio to continue to grow.
• Managed the migration of the Motor portfolio of 800,000 policies into a new IT system.
• Handled transfer of 120,000 John Lewis Pet and Household customers from AXA and BDML.
• Produced a ground-breaking proposal for an in-house Migration Factory. From January 2008 to December 2012 (5 years) Programme Manager @ • Managed releases for over 70 project deployments for the Personal lines portfolio. To ensure that risks and operational impacts to business were proactively managed, a methodology for management of releases into production was produced and adopted.
• For part of period responsible for BAU Management of IS Business Consultancy and Analysis Teams and responsible for Governance of small changes. Led a review of existing organisation against company needs and made proposals to management which were adopted.
• Managed significant parts of the Household change programme of circa 9,000 man-days including delivery of Yorkshire Building Society Affinity Partner (3,500) man-days) on new Strategic Platform. Key success criteria achieved were delivery of Affinity Partner project within budget, timescales to acceptable levels of quality and to establish a relationship with their organisation. They are still an Affinity Partner today. The Programme also reduced Household portfolio from 201 different products down to 40.
• Delivered a wide range of Affinity programmes including:
o Sesame (Household) - 2,000 man-days
o National Australia Bank (Household and Motor) - 3,000 man-days
o M&S (Pet) - 2,500 man-days
o Paymentshield (Household Claims) – 500 man-days
• The above Affinity projects all delivered within timeframes and budget and to acceptable levels of quality. Retention targets were exceeded on each Migration. Stakeholder management of internal and external stakeholders was successful and each partner above is still a partner today. From January 2002 to December 2007 (6 years) Programme Support Manager @ • Managed 12 Project Managers and delivered over 20 disparate projects.
• Managed IS development of the original MORE TH>N web-site, plus required interfaces and associated infrastructure From January 2000 to December 2001 (2 years) Regional Business Technology Manager @ • Managed a virtual team and delivered technology and project delivery consultancy across Latin America involving 12 group companies. All projects were delivered within timescales, budget and to an acceptable level of quality. From January 1999 to December 2000 (2 years) ColombiaVice President @ • Managed 36 staff and responsible for IS, Business Transformation and Planning & Control.
• Directed a major change initiative of approx. 10,000 man-days with up to 60 full-time staff. The Programme achieved success criteria of budget, timescales and quality.
