From February 2014 to February 2015 (1 year 1 month) Redwood City, CAContractor @ Xanacare Technologies, LLC Developed a system to control multiple clinical therapy devices from a central unit via mobile device. Modified legacy hardware is connected to a low cost linux single board computer. A server (developed in C) runs in the single board computer and serves (custom developed) HTML5/CSS/Javascript (jQuery) to a moblie device. The mobile device (Android) presents a simple UI to control attached hardware via wireless networking. From June 2013 to January 2014 (8 months) Contractor @ Ibysys Developed hardware, embedded software, middle ware and front end for the Beerlog. The Beerlog precisely monitors, records and displays beer keg flow rate and status for restaurant and bar owners. The Beerlog consists of an embedded Debian linux single board computer which connects to sensors. Embedded software runs in a single board computer (Debian Linux) which logs data to USB , provides security and transmits data to a node server. Readings are accessible via Node.js server and HTML5/CSS/jQuery front end. From March 2013 to December 2013 (10 months) Contractor @ Adrenaline Garage Developed web application to overlay text, motion graphics and scoring data onto real time streaming video coverage of automotive racing events. This software allows a producer to build libraries, work flows and integrate scoring data in real time, for live broadcast. For example, the racers name and picture are pulled from the server and displayed based on race planning. This software was developed in HTML5, CSS and Javascript/jQuery and utilizes node.js and socket.io for middle ware. HTML5 canvas and video elements were leveraged to provide video playback and graphical overlay. This software has been used throughout the 2013 season and viewed by hundreds of thousands of viewers online and at the races. From January 2013 to April 2013 (4 months) Contracts @ Contracts Various web designs (html, java, flash) ; Architectural visualizations (3dMax, Flash) ; Flash Web Games; Embedded software and hardware (audio, video) ; Marketing Graphics ; Product Visualization From January 1995 to January 2012 (17 years 1 month) VariousLead Developer @ FitnessNets Designed and developed a kiosk for use on exercise equipment. Kiosk was Linux based; and implemented with Actionscript, Javascript and HTML. The interface was data driven by XML template. Kiosk was hosted on a rugged touch screen computer, and interfaced with exercise equipment. From February 2005 to January 2007 (2 years) Denver, CO, USAEmbedded Engineer @ Spectra Logic Developed real time tape library firmware using VXWorks ; focused primarily on SNMP MIBs. From January 2002 to January 2003 (1 year 1 month) Boulder, CO, USALead Developer @ Roomlinx Designed, developed and implemented a data driven multimedia kiosk for guest use in hotels. System architecture consisted of LAMP and VOD servers delivering content via XML, and a front end client developed in Actionscript, Javascript and HTML running on a thin client and displayed on TVs. Our unique technology provided the ability for rich content delivery, which could be easily tailored for customer needs. In addition to completely designing and developing the front end software, I integrated complex third party products including video on demand systems, transaction processors and kiosking software. At Roomlinx, I was also able to mentor junior team members, and implement development methodologies.
