Work to drive new revenue by enhancing existing features, implementing new features and incident resolution & reduction. Software stack primarily including Java, Hadoop, Hive, Oracle. About 50% of my time is spent leading, mentoring & ensuring deadlines are met, the other 50% is coding. - Drive the team to move towards a faster, more robust development model with full continuous delivery. - During my time at the company have led a team of 25 engineers to develop a highly-scalable reporting system for self-service users for Yahoo Gemini to support both native & search advertising with an annual run-rate of >$500M (the system I continue to develop). Developed this system from scratch in 3-months. During this time lived on assignment in the USA & acted as the bridge between California & London - working in ‘startup-like conditions’ for much of the time. As the technical lead, led the team (half in USA, half in London), drove deadlines, allocated work, collaborated with product, developed code where necessary. - Developed a keyword forecasting system using trend-based analysis to give advertisers insights into the effects of changing their bid for given keywords. - Developed a native forecasting system using trend-based analysis to give advertisers insights into the effects of changing their bid on their campaigns. From October 2011 to May 2015 (3 years 8 months) London, United KingdomWebsphere MQ Performance Analyst @ - Worked to maintain and improve the performance of JMS, base MQ and the MQI features of Websphere MQ by working closely with the development team, benchmarking and profiling the product in customer-like scenarios. - Designed and wrote MQTT smarter planet applications in Java and C to interface with the newly released MQ Telemetry product. Simulated large numbers of light-weight pervasive devices on Linux and Windows.
