In this role, I was in charge of the solution-design as well as design and development of back-end products required for this solution. The solution comprised of the following products ● Video Catalog Management (on-demand, live, 3rd party repositories and time-shift TV) ● Distributed video transcoding and encryption, video recording for time-shift TV ● Video streaming server (Origin/Edge architecture) ● Entitlement, billing (pre/post paid), invoicing, business rules and content protection ● Device & Subscriber Identity management and service configuration ● Recommendation engine for content discovery ● Video and banner ad management From July 2009 to January 2014 (4 years 7 months) Bengaluru Area, IndiaProduct Architect and lead back-end developer @ I was the lead-developer for a product which provides interactive applications on Digital TV. The solution included back-end products for providing data over DVB-S2 to Set-top boxes (for tv apps) and tv-commerce. On the STBs, we had applications which included overlaid personalized widgets, local city information (including live traffic), a companion app for a business news channel and TV commerce apps We also developed a companion mobile client (J2ME) and associated backend systems for EPG browsing, nVoD content purchase (pay-per-view), scheduling DVR recording on supported STBs and displaying banner ads (served via OpenX) From June 2007 to July 2009 (2 years 2 months) Bengaluru Area, IndiaSoftware Engineer @ I was a systems engineer for a telecom middleware that is being developed within Infosys’ Product Incubation Unit. My work involved selection of the OS (NetBSD-2) and design/implementation of frameworks for process monitoring, IPC (TIPC), CLI, system init, logging, live debugging, pools based memory management, configuration backup, efficient user-space timers etc. Also worked on system-call performance improvement (using kernel shared objects), build system (first cut), porting apps to use kqueue etc. This middleware was used to build a DSLAM (ADSL2+ and vDSL). Was also a code/design reviewer for other modules. From September 2004 to May 2007 (2 years 9 months) Bengaluru Area, IndiaSoftware Engineer @ I worked as a junior engineer for one of Infosys’ telecom customers (Lucent Technologies).
