I am currently employed on contract as a network architect with Cisco Systems, Inc. The majority of my duties involve overseeing projects, designing implementation procedures, implementation, and troubleshooting of bank network hardware. Since being brought on as an engineer, I’ve taken on a manager role on a few smaller projects, which task me with overseeing multiple employees, and requires me to assign roles and duties and coordinate to ensure project goals are being met. I’m also personally involved in the continual upgrading of ATM networking devices, banking center upgrades, router, switch, NAC and DOT1X enforcement, wireless, and voip rollouts. This also extends to the decommissioning of older devices. All of this requires in-depth IOS and networking knowledge. Due to the nature of remote work, I personally have to coordinate with multiple project managers, write, reference and sometimes correct implementation documentation, and deal with on-site technicians.
I am a quality oriented professional with A+, Security +, and CCNA certifications. Ideally, I’d like to work within a mid to large size corporate/telecommunications/data center environment where I can continue to further develop these skills and gain experience; preferably with a company which regards hard work and ethics as essential. My goal as a networking professional is to help my employer succeed and grow as a business, by ensuring a functional, secure, and scalable networking environment; an environment necessary for a business to accomplish their operating goals.
