I have a wide range of practical computing skills, from the design and maintenance of websites, down to the low tech installation and troubleshooting of hardware problems. My wide range of computing experience allows me to deal with common computer issues at the roots, without needing assistance from other departments. I have a love of sharing knowledge, this allows me to pass on experience to my colleagues, so they too may be able to improve as well. I also know that there is always room to learn more, and enjoy learning from others as much as I enjoy teaching. I am a social, yet focused person with what has been described as "infectious enthusiasm" for the task at hand. This means that I am able to help keep the workforce motivated and interested in the tasks at hand, without myself becoming distracted. Having also served a tour in Afghanistan with the Territorial Army, I also bring a lot of talents beyond the norm. My teamwork, resource management, discipline and general communication skills have all been enhanced by this experience. My goals at this point are for a medium term stable position, with future career advancement opportunities, preferably in IT technical support or web development, however I would also be happy diversifying into administration or secretarial work. I would ideally like a position in the Zuid-Holland area, where English is the primary business language, but I get plenty of exposure to Dutch to aide me in learning the language faster. It involves a large database of gaming knowledge which is updated and maintained on a regular basis, as well as news articles on the sites topic. The website is aimed at the gaming audience, and currently receives around 6000 hits per month. From July 2005 to February 2013 (7 years 8 months) PHP Developer @ Construction, upgrade and maintenance of PHP / MySQL based websites, working closely with the in house designers to deliver the clients requirements quickly and to a very high standard. From June 2011 to June 2012 (1 year 1 month) Private (Territorial) @ As a Territorial Army reservist, trained in the infantry role I did additional training tailored around my civilian job, and have served a tour of duty (Operation Herrick 11b). This provides extra skills and experience that can be beneficial, whatever my career. During the times where I was still looking for full-time work, I often volunteered to work extra days at the barracks as a general office – body and handyman, to keep myself in some form of employment. The tasks I performed were varied, one day I started the day sorting medical documents, and ended by doing some painting and DIY. Flexibility was key in this role. From September 2007 to December 2010 (3 years 4 months) Force Protection Team Medic @ During my seven month tour of Afghanistan, I worked at Headquarters ISAF, Kabul. Here I was roled as an Infantry Team Medic with Force Protection, our duties included internal and external security of the main compound, patrols of the surrounding area and Quick Reaction Force response to incidence both in the camp and our local Area of Operations.
