I will complete the internship and graduate from the coding school Ada Developers Academy in August. Ada, where I'm also currently a student, is a tuition-free, one-year program with an acceptance rate of about 10% that trains women to be full-stack software developers.
I previously worked at New York University's Global Technology Services on social media strategy and as a service coordinator for NYU's ePortfolio pilot. As a business analyst, I also did (manual) QA testing as well as providing general support/analysis for the new enhancements to NYU's LMS, NYU Classes (the NYU instance of the open source software Sakai).
In 2012 I graduated from the Studio 20 journalism M.A. program at NYU, which focused on merging journalism with technology. During graduate school, I was on the community team at The Huffington Post, and partnered with them for my master's capstone project about community building between users during my final semester. Before that, I was a digital intern at Good Housekeeping and assisted New York magazine's fashion blog, The Cut, with its coverage of New York Fashion Week in February 2012.
As an undergrad, I was editor-in-chief of Saint Louis University's student newspaper, The University News (named Best in State by the Missouri College Media Association), and graduated Magna Cum Laude in May 2010. During a gap year, I worked as an editorial intern at Clash magazine in London, and then backpacked around Europe (and a little beyond) for two months.
