A skilled and analytical thinker who loves problem solving under pressure. I enjoy programming on any level and have harbored this as both a hobby and a job since I was 12 years old. I believe that automation of regular business tasks is the key to a more efficient work environment and that software development at even the smallest scale can have large rewards.
I am currently working towards exam completion for the Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation. Additionally, I have settled in Plano, TX with Transamerica's Actuarial Validation Unit where I am tasked with optimizing existing business processes, ensuring model regulation compliance, and automating manual testing procedures using js and C#. As a programmer, I used basic analytics to determine causes of machine downtime and efficiency loss. Once problems were identified and understood, I leveraged highly automated robotics and machine logic programming to refine industrial systems and bring machines back to sustained maximum production.
When in the home office, I assisted in the management and development of a 24-hour customer hotline to help fill the gap between visits to plant locations and more readily assist our customers in times of need. Additionally, I worked with a team in both planning future projects from the engineering phase to deployment, as well as evaluating the success and profit of past projects. Network Administration From January 2011 to February 2014 (3 years 2 months) Safety Harbor, FLJunior Programmer @ I started at Emhart Glass as a summer intern developing a C#/VB application which leveraged Ethernet and serial protocols to bridge the gap between an industrial machine and a remote PC. The application's primary responsibility was the statistical tracking and reporting of the machine's progress and status. This required an understanding of sockets, database interrogation, interop, and crystal reports.
This work allowed me to move forward to a part-time internship assisting a larger team developing software for image processing in C# and C++. I was responsible for writing C/C# code for image analysis to a given specification. This required an understanding of arrays and Bitmaps, second-order derivatives, and image filter development.
