The role requires leadership and management of vendors, utility authorities, architects, design consultants and construction project team to ensure timely resolution of risk, cost, quality and scheduling issues associated with the construction project. Experience in managing client relationships ensures the delivery of construction and fit out for a mission critical facility that aligns with their expectations. Hans' experience as a project manager in the construction profession is complimented by his current studies at the University of Melbourne in a Master of Construction Law. From February 2014 to Present (1 year 10 months) Melbourne Area, AustraliaIndustry Fellow @ Hans is an Industry Fellow of Monash University and enjoys presenting lectures and tutorials to impart his knowledge and experience in assisting students obtain their B.Business and M.Business. Hans also developed and delivered the ‘Project and Contracts Risk Management’ module of the International Diploma of Risk Management in the United Arab Emirate’s (UAE) and Egypt over a five year period. From January 2002 to Present (13 years 11 months) D&C Project Manager @ Hans’ National role as D&C Project Manager for Thiess Energy Solutions involved the construction of eight new large Data Centres throughout Australia for NBN. Hans’ responsibilities included tender submissions and D&C of major building services infrastructure upgrades in Telstra Exchanges to accommodate NBN and Dept of Defence growth in Victoria and Tasmania. From August 2011 to January 2014 (2 years 6 months) Senior Electrical Engineer & Leadership @ Hans enjoyed his role at Arup initially as a senior risk manager and then as a senior electrical field engineer in the buildings group. A majority of Hans’ experience stems from practicing as a building services engineer, project manager and risk manager for major projects related to Victorian Regional Rail Project KBR/Arup joint venture, multi-story commercial buildings, hospitals, nursing homes, colleges and schools including heritage listed convents, monasteries and cathedrals throughout Australia. From January 2009 to August 2011 (2 years 8 months) Melbourne Area, AustraliaExecutive Member Leadership Team & National Manager - Risk Management and Technical Services @ Prior to Arup, Hans enjoyed his senior role as the ‘National Manager –Risk Management & Technical Services’ for a not for profit self insurer. Hans applied a risk based approach to establish and direct a $21M5 funded program to assist 4,500 clients throughout Australia. This initiative addressed the client’s property, OH&S and liability risk within risk appetite and tolerance limits acceptable to the chief underwriter and reinsurance groups. Subsequent risk mitigation provided the pathway to implement numerous projects that required an in-depth understanding of buildings & services , statutory and duty of care owed to public, occupants and workers. As a member of the Executive Group, Hans actively contributed to the development and implementation of corporate strategies, compliance and governance of the company. From January 1990 to November 2008 (18 years 11 months) Building Services Electrical Engineer @ Hans’ experience stems from completing his electrical trade apprenticeship and practicing as an A Grade Electrician for Apps Electrics( Power & Lighting) for six years followed by two years with Butler Electrics ( Mechanical & Elec) and four years as the Deputy Hospital Engineer at Freemasons Hospital specialising in building services engineering and project management. Hans was responsible for the delivery of electrical projects for major projects related to multi-story commercial buildings, industrial facilities and Shell Australia.
