Sustainability requires system change, inside and outside, and our SB&I team brokers and catalyzes systems innovation through business modeling, data analytics, inspiration and collaboration.
As VP of the Innovation Accelerator I shepherd a small team that is set up to help innovation functions move smarter, faster, through portfolio analytics; strategic innovation partnerships, rapid piloting and innovation strategy. From April 2014 to Present (1 year 9 months) Vice President of Sustainable Business & Innovation @ Stewards the Nike, Inc sustainability strategy and leads the Sustainable Business & Innovation team. Busy looking for ways to design the future and innovate business models and products decoupled from scarce resources. Actively leveraging transparency, big data, innovation, collaboration to create scaleable solutions.

From December 2004 to May 2014 (9 years 6 months) Director of Corporate Responsibility, Europe, Middle East and Africa @ Ran the labor rights, environmental and community affairs functions for Nike in Europe, Middle East and Africa. Opened up the Brussels office for the company, kickstarted the government affairs team there. Represented the company in multistakeholder forums on labor rights, environment & CSR. Board member of CSR Europe. Prototyped an integrated approach to labor, environment and business (vs silo'd approach). Worked with a great team, travelled across EMEA, had the priviledge of working with amazing partners during a time of great learning for the CSR movement. Began working with the UNHCR on the High Commissioners Business Advisors council. From 1998 to 2004 (6 years) Brussels Area, BelgiumEuropean Manager @ Led pan European public service campaigns with Radio stations on AIDS/HIV. Trained excluded young people in media skills that led to their voices and perspectives being represented on air. Coordinated at its height 500 radio stations participation in campaigns. Fundraised. Represented benefits of volunteerism to the European Commission (advocacy). From 1993 to 1998 (5 years) Reporter, Researcher, Producer @ Every 3-4 months Radio One (UK's largest youth/music radio station) ran social action campaigns on youth related issues (AIDS/HIV/RACISM/UNEMPLOYMENT/DRUGS...). The station would partner with government and NGO's to run integrated campaigns that both raised awareness & enabled young people to access helplines and local support. The team in charge was called the social action team. I was a part of that team. We worked hard, fast, and made magic happen. It was an amazing opportunity. I learnt to research indepth on social issues, consult multiple stakeholders on solution-sets, learnt the importance of narrative and voice and message, learnt that a campaign is all about the art of project management, working to impossible deadlines, did interviews and reported from across Europe, worked with personalities and the young people themselves, helping to produce documentaries, voxpops, calls to action.
