💼 Past Experience

My experience with software development has been few and far between, but I am confident that my skills as a software engineer will be valuable to you as a customer. My past work experiences have given me a good understanding of the software development process from a customer perspective. I have also had the opportunity to work on a number of different software development teams. On the software development team at Spinlister, my main focus was on the backend. I worked on various backend technologies, including Ruby on Rails and Amazon Web Services. I also worked with different front-end technologies, such as AngularJS and ReactJS. I am extremely confident in my abilities as a software engineer, and I am excited to see what else I can bring to your team in the near future.

I was also tasked with working on migrating the site to Drupal 8/Symfony. Apart from Drupal I also created Microsoft Excel and Morvision (mortgage software) macros using Visual Basic 6.0 . Lastly, I worked with teams of other interns to create webapps using Node.js, Mongo, Angular.js, and Rails. After beginning in the summer I stayed on during the school year (UCR) while working full and part time (depending on school course load). Mathematics Tutor at Future Academy from July 2012 to February 2013 (8 months) in Orange County, California Area. Worked part-time teaching Math and Science to children. I am an Application Engineer on the product team at Spinlister. My focus is on backend and full-stack development, in particular Ruby on Rails. I work with many different technologies including Amazon Web Services, Heroku, Redis, Google Maps API, Slack API, Stripe API, NewRelic, CircleCI, Backbone.js, Coffeescript, HAML, SCSS/SASS, Spriting Images, and Internationalization. My favorite task so far is when I helped optimize and scale Spinlister using optimization via Redis for RoR model/serialization caching (our search query transaction speed shrunk by 80%).While my focus is typically on the backend I will also help with Android related development in the coming months.
