Dishwasher @ Scoozi I was a dishwasher and a prep cook for an italian restaurant in Chicago's River North neighborhood. I had to work quick as the restaurant was very busy most nights, and a majority of the team I worked with could not speak english so it was a great lesson in communication which really helped my understanding of design. From October 2011 to January 2012 (4 months) Chicago, ILJunior Graphic Designer @ Alliance Entertainment I worked on a wide range of large print catalogs and web design and a redesign of our websites to revamp our brands. This was a large scale project that involved a lot of collaboration and project management skills on top of design skills from conceptualization through to the final execution and presentation of the website. This also involved the creation and implementation of new brand guidelines. From March 2016 to June 2017 (1 year 4 months) Barista @ Argo Tea I worked for a brief time at Argo Tea in Merchandise Mart in the summer between going to school at SAIC and moving to London. This was a fast paced work environment with a small team and I even got to run a booth at a few other events held within merchandise mart. From June 2012 to August 2012 (3 months) Chicago, ILTeam Member @ Target I worked as a team member for target for five years in high school/college. In this time I was trained on the sales floor, as a cashier, guest services, food services, and cart attendant. I was a versatile team member that could work a majority of the positions in the store. From August 2007 to August 2012 (5 years 1 month) Streamwood, ILOffice Assistant @ The Art Institute of Chicago I was an office assistant for the residence halls at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago while attending school there. This involved working with the hall director and other office assistants to help make sure the everyday tasks of the office ran smoothly. I would organize and sort mail and packages, help residents with questions they had, organize the hall directors schedule, and work with other residence life staff. From August 2011 to June 2012 (11 months) Chicago, ILUX/UI Designer @ Scientific Games From June 2017 to October 2019 (2 years 5 months) Chicago, ILUX Designer @ United Airlines Working on web services and continuing improvement team. Contracted through Wunderland. From November 2019 to March 2020 (5 months) Chicago, IllinoisGraphic Designer @ T Pub T Pub is small start up comic book publisher base in London. I worked with them as the sole graphic designer while in the final year of my degree. A bulk of my design work was editorial and typographical. Along with comic book layouts I created advertisements for both digital and print, work with printers, cold call sales, marketing, social media, aided with art direction, editing, app design, promotional design, Comic logo design, Pop up shops, Convention booth design and domestic and international conventions. I travelled internationally to represent my company at comic conventions where I was able to sell several hundred books each time. I was at a few large conventions by myself such as Emerald City Comic Con in Seattle, and Wondercon in Anaheim where I was able to sell out of books at both conventions on my own. I was relied on the go these USA conventions by myself not only to sell out books but also to connect with our fan base, build up or reputation in a new market for us, and to really help make T Pub part of the comic community in the USA.Being the only designer for the company I had a very large workload managing multiple projects at one time. During this position I learned so much that I could not have learned in school, and I learned it quick. One of the most import lessons I learned was how to work with external printers, for both digital and offset outputs, both domestic and international. From May 2014 to May 2015 (1 year 1 month) London, United KingdomResident Advisor @ University of Wisconsin - Whitewater I was an RA at the University of Wisconsin Whitewater while attending school there. I was responsible for the safety and well being of 400+ students along with a team of 19 other people. We would put on programs for the residents every other week in order to help them adjust and engage with the university and each other. The biggest focus of this job was creating a positive community among the residents. From August 2010 to June 2011 (11 months) Whitewater, WIBuilding Manager @ University of Wisconsin - Whitewater I was a building manager for the Greenhill Center of the arts of the University of Wisconsin Whitewater, while I was attending School There.
