As a senior member of the exec team managing Business Planning & Operations for the new Group Digital Product at Tesco covering e-commerce, I have led the day-to-day financial planning and operational aspects for the group (150 employees). I manage operations for Satago and work with the SLT to develop, communicate and implement our strategic goals, driving decision-making to deliver medium- and long-term improvements. My tasks also include implementing appropriate policies, processes and standards across the company,
driving communication of organisational plans and challenging all team members to meet delivery.
I provide analytical support to the SLT and develop internal management reporting capabilities, risk engine evaluation, legal and insurance contracts, investors' relations, suppliers negotiations and finance. I develop administrative and operational services such as bank account management, leave tracking and recruitment.
All of Satago's SLT promotes a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality which requires that we monitor staff performance and development goals, assign accountabilities, set objectives, establish priorities, manage the semi-annual performance cycle and discuss compensation adjustments. As part of my role, I ensure that staff members receive timely and appropriate training and development. GDP is a customer focused and data driven organisation that has been tasked with creating best in class digital product processes for Tesco's International Grocery Homeshopping, Clubcard, Hudl tablet, click&collect and much more.
In addition, I lead the day-to-day operational aspects for the group (150 employees) as a key member of the senior leadership team, establishing initial budgets for each team within the group (total budget £30 million) and leading group operational functions working closely with finance, IT, property and facilities to ensure the group has adequate support and resources to effectively execute its strategy and priorities. I established effective communication across the group to ensure that everyone is clear about status. I managed and coordinated the fit-out of new London premises (30,000 sq. ft. Grade A) for the specific requirements of the digital group.
I also worked extensively with Tesco’s International Telecoms Group to provide strategic solutions and business planning to accelerate growth for the International Telecoms and Tesco Mobile businesses. Developing business cases and strategies to expand Tesco Mobile into new markets by entering into MVNO deals with network providers. Advocated for improved regulation from numerous public bodies (SEC, FASB, EU) to enhance financial disclosure in relation to improving transparency of extractive companies and coordinated and defined strategy and advocacy work to promote new legislation requiring changes to reporting requirements by the IASB.
