In my role at SP, my time and skills are split between a number of responsibilities. On a day-to-day basis, I provide tier 2 & 3 engineering and systems support to all of our clients and respond to escalations from tier 1 engineers along with providing them with guidance on resolving issues effectively and promptly. I am also responsible for designing, planning and deploying new system installations and facilities. Alongside this I work closely with clients to develop, tailor, enhance & improve their workflows and processes. Amongst my achievements at SP, I have been instrumental in planning and deploying SAN and edit facility installations and upgrades, whole facility location moves, complex backup and archive systems and automated edit and data workflows. I held complete responsibility for all technical systems in the London head office and LA subsidiary; supporting both IT systems, network and Post-Production Engineering, overseeing the editing, finishing and encoding and rendering infrastructure. I recruited and developed a team of three and held budgetary responsibility for my department. I authored several in-house applications, database and 3rd party system integrations which were instrumental in improving scheduling and operations in the company. Building on this, I lead a complete overhaul of the workflow of the Post-Production departments; planning and deploying asset-management, transcoding and automation systems. My accomplishments at CP included designing and supervising the build of a new server room, installing high-performance file-servers and back-end storage area networks; implementing software and OS packaging, deployment and imaging systems. Other achievements include improving internal and external data security with a single point of management for all user credentials, enabling single-sign-on and hot-desking; together with software access controls. I ensured that all systems were fault tolerant by eliminating, all possible single points of failure and providing manual and automated fail-over systems. I ensured that there were comprehensive offsite backups held and disaster recovery procedures in place. My experience at CP was extensive and my role required me to bring the company on from having no existing IT infrastructure, to the present day where technology is a core part of the business. My team and I provided services that were crucial to the continued operation and growth of the organisation. From May 2000 to January 2013 (12 years 9 months) Deputy Studio Manager @ During my time at Finex I was responsible for the production, flight-checking and quality assurance of a wide range of printed campaign and marketing materials to ensure that these met the technical requirements of the print suppliers. I was also solely responsible for the troubleshooting and maintenance of all the production hardware and software systems. From 1999 to 2000 (1 year) Senior Artworker/Studio Manager @ At Raithby Lawrence, I was responsible for the running of the artwork studio in the London office and also jointly for the reprographics studio in the head office in Leicester.
