Senior self designed Engineering, Physics, and Technology major at Harvey Mudd College graduating in May 2016. My focus is in research and development for interactive sensors, wearable technology, and interactive experiences for theme parks and museums.
With a strong Physics foundation, and upper division signal processing, design engineering, and management courses, my multi-disciplinary background fits into the diverse research and development environment working with peers from all fields. My passion is to find new ways for humans to use sensors to interact with their environment, through wearable technology, automated homes, and more.
For the Fall 2015 semester I am studying abroad at Queen Mary University of London, and am looking for employment after my spring 2016 graduation.
Tutor @ Assisted 10th grader in world history, geometry, english, and chemistry. Identified gaps in learning and created personalized learning plans to reinforce important concepts. Taught useful study habits and reinforced concepts from previous sessions.
Has also tutored senior Calculus and aided with college applications. From January 2013 to May 2015 (2 years 5 months) Computer Science Grader/Tutor @ Grader and tutor for the Introduction to Computer Science Course at Harvey Mudd, focusing on programming in Python. Students are introduced to the design of digital devices, how computers work, an computability theory, and machine language. From September 2012 to December 2014 (2 years 4 months) Advanced Development Intern @ • Conducted comprehensive evaluation of existing microphone technologies to improve speech recognition.
• Experimented with multi-Kinect microphone array to increase signal to noise ratio.
• Wrote voice activity detection, signal processing and beamforming scripts.
• Recommended microphone candidate for mid-distance speech recognition. From June 2014 to August 2014 (3 months) Saturday Session Tutor @ Tutored two 11th graders in all subjects, focusing on study skills, organization, SAT prep, ACT prep, and homework help. From January 2013 to April 2013 (4 months) Aerothermal Modeling Researcher @ Conducted research with Prof. Lyzenga of Harvey Mudd's physics department. Worked on modeling the atmosphere as a lens to conduct diffraction experiments in an attempt to replicate and test the conditions leading to shadow bands before and after eclipses. Simulations were programmed in MATLAB. From January 2013 to April 2013 (4 months) Scene Shop Assistant @ Scene Shop Assistant at Pomona College's Theater Department helping to build and paint sets. Learned construction skills such as using nail guns, various saws, and basic tools. From September 2012 to December 2012 (4 months) Intern, Kepler Project @ Worked to identify and classify white dwarfs, cataclysmic variables, active galactic nuclei, and OB Stars in the UBV Catalogue to suggest new candidates for Kepler light curves, and to analyze these light curves. From June 2012 to August 2012 (3 months) Astrophysics Researcher @ Learned the basics of Unix and IRAF. From October 2011 to December 2011 (3 months) Intern, Data-Link Audio-Haptic Response Program @ Synthesized 200 pseudo-data-link messages to act as distracters in a task comparing the effectiveness of physical versus virtual buttons in new Controller Pilot Data Link systems. From May 2011 to June 2011 (2 months) Intern, Operational Based Vision Assessment @ A program to build a vision-limiting flight simulator in order to test the correlation between visual acuity and flight performance. Completed a screen survey on flight simulator projectors, and wrote functions and GUIs to analyze these functions in order to aid in deciding which brand projector to choose for the simulator. From January 2011 to June 2011 (6 months)
