I just want to make humans get along with computers better. In my lifetime I have explored every avenue of computer technology that I had the chance to, and invented opportunities when I wanted to do something new that I wasn't already. Production Engineer @ I make things go. From June 2015 to Present (7 months) Linux Systems Engineer @ For 2 years I worked from the company headquarters in San Antonio providing "Fanatical Support" to hybrid cloud customers. These customers were using both old-style dedicated servers and next-generation cloud services in a single unified hosting environment to power their business.
For another 2 years, I worked from Blacksburg with Rackspace Email & Apps as an engineer with special focus on the webmail and mail routing parts of the infrastructure. At the time, Email & Apps handled approximately 200 million message per day, over 160 million hits to webmail per day, and had over 4 million mailboxes. From May 2011 to June 2015 (4 years 2 months) Technology Consultant @ Responsible for all technological development and support of the company, including maintaining all office equipment, designing, developing, and maintaining the several web sites related to Doebler Realty. Designing, developing and maintaining in-house office management systems and administering several dedicated servers used to support these systems. From 2002 to 2012 (10 years) Sole Proprietor @ Started own general computer service business helping friends and family with general problems. Formed and expanded highly successful business by word-of-mouth referrals. Continue to assist people in personal mission to integrate people and their technology in the most efficient and enjoyable way. Most recent jobs are cleaning out home computers and web development. From October 1998 to 2012 (14 years) Lab Guru @ Designed and implemented the procedures and infrastructure for the testing of used and refurbished network hardware. Responsible for identifying the potential failures in all devices the company buys/sells and ensuring that defective units are handled properly and do not get sent to the customers. Was given complete autonomy in the design and requirements for the test lab, which the company did not previously have. From January 2011 to May 2011 (5 months) CALO Lab Engineer @ Assisted Cisco Support Engineers in creating recreates of customer network topologies. Worked with an extremely diverse range of network equipment from Cisco's entire product line. From December 2009 to August 2010 (9 months)
