I am a licensed CPA in the states of Arizona and California with a strong dedication towards the practice of Accounting. I currently hold a position at NetSuite as a Pre-Sales Solution Consultant in the Software vertical of our Account Management Office. I serve as part of a team of knowledgeable NetSuite product experts who work to service our loyal client base. These business challenges vary from: IPO readiness, mergers & acquisitions, divestitures, carve-outs/spin-offs, IFRS financial statement conversion, and revenue recognition for multiple element arrangements, including: - Revenue from Contracts with Customers (ASC 606 -- Convergence Standard) - SOP 97-2 (ASC 985-605 -- Current SW Guidance) - EITF 08-1 (FV Hierarchy Codified Into ASC 605 -- Current Revenue Recognition Guidance) - EITF 09-3 (Essential SW to Product Functionality Scoped Out of 985-605) I have assisted in performing a variety of complex accounting assessments for Fortune 500 companies as well as being part of divestitures and legal entity split-offs and subsequent stand ups of multi-billion dollar organizations. I work in tandem with Deloitte's other service-offering components to deliver a high-caliber, comprehensive work product that addresses the risks and concerns of the client as well as to identify potential risks that the business is or may be facing on the horizon. Also, I have driven the engagement economics, planning, process understanding, risk identification, test plan creation, testing of design, implementation, and operating effectiveness, and reporting for internal audits that have run the gamut from operational to financial in scope. I have performed audits across the globe, ranging from the United States to Santiago, Chile. Additionally, I have undertaken procedures and gathered evidence to ultimately drive the goal of providing reasonable assurance for companies' internal control over financial reporting as required by Sarbanes-Oxley. In this capacity, I mainly served Fortune 500, publicly-traded companies in an internal audit co-sourcing and outsourcing role. From September 2011 to March 2015 (3 years 7 months) Financial Accounting Summer Instructor @ During the first Summer session of classes offered at ASU, I served as an Instructor for ACC 231: Introduction to Financial Accounting. I held class every day for 5 weeks and introduced various introductory financial accounting topics, ranging from revenue recognition and adjusting journal entries to financial statement analysis and stock transactions. From May 2011 to June 2011 (2 months) Management Accounting Graduate Teaching Assistant @ For the Fall 2010 and Spring 2011 semesters at ASU, I served as a graduate assistant for ACC 241: Introduction to Managerial Accounting. My responsibilities included: holding a mandatory breakout class one day a week, during which I would reinforce the basic managerial accounting concepts introduced to the students during the main lecture class, holding office hours on several days during the week to better facilitate the learning process, maintaining grades for 160 students (in total, over both semesters), and effectively utilizing my communication skills to defuse academic disputes.
