California Air Resources Board

The California Air Resources Board (CARB) is a part of the California Environmental Protection Agency, an organization which reports directly to the Governor's Office in the Executive Branch of California State Government.The mission of the California Air Resources Board is to promote and protect public health, welfare and ecological resources through the effective and efficient reduction of air pollutants while recognizing and considering the effects on the economy of the state.CARB's major goals are to:Provide safe, clean air to all CaliforniansProtect the public from exposure to toxic air contaminantsReduce California's emission of greenhouse gasesProvide leadership in implementing and enforcing air pollution control rules and regulationsProvide innovative approaches for complying with air pollution rules and regulationsBase decisions on best possible scientific and economic informationProvide quality customer service to all ARB clients
