Associate Software Engineer Intern @ This year I was invited to come back to intern at EMC to set up an automated testing system for their program, NetWorker. This project included setting up virtual machines, scripting in bash and batch, and using Jenkins to control the entire system.
A short summary of tasks I completed on the project can be seen below:
Windows Autoserver System
o Automated installation and testing of EMC’s NetWorker on Windows.
o Wrote batch and bash scripts for operating the system.
o Documented information about system for easy administration.
o Gave presentations about the system to various employees at EMC.
EMC's Innovation Website
o Researched innovation websites of IT and non-IT companies.
o Compared and contrasted other innovation websites with EMC's innovation website.
o Gave a PowerPoint presentation about differences and suggested how to improve EMC's innovation website. From May 2015 to August 2015 (4 months) Lead Technical Engineer @ Our project for the Interactive Media and Game Development class "The Game Development Process" was to create a working prototype of a game. My group designed a game where the player is an apple that is trying to escape the grocery store.
My responsibilities during the project included:
- Producing all animations using Photoshop and Ren’Py.
- Finalizing all image assets with Photoshop.
- Editing audio assets to ensure uniform dynamic range.
The game can be downloaded and played from the following link: From August 2014 to October 2014 (3 months) Associate Software Engineer Intern @ During the summer of 2014 I was hired for an internship at EMC. While I was there I learned about the world of Virtual Machines (VMs). I implemented automated backup systems for the VMs. The backup system included a deduplication storage unit to save 10s of terabytes of space. Other work that was completed while I was there was standardizing the automated build machines, and finding a solution to a workaround bug.
Here are some of my tasks during my internship:
Virtual Machine Backup System
o Constructed virtual machine backup system using EMC NetWorker.
o Documented system and provided step by step instructions for administration.
o Created batch scripts to automate backup notifications and log files.
Other Responsibilities
o Configured and standardized automated build machines.
o Made a concept wiki, in order to show features and benefits.
o Found a workaround for a bug, and explained how to go about fixing it.
o Set up virtual machines for other employees. From May 2014 to August 2014 (4 months) Freelance Animator @ From September 2010 to June 2013 (2 years 10 months)
