• Leading the manufacturing process design for a new product at its early stages, dealing with flowsheet reviews, process selection and scale up from lab scale
• Taking part in toll manufacturer selection, risk assessments and production trials
• Conducting various project studies to identify knowledge gaps and direct project effort
• Producing Feasibility and Optioneering case documents
• Putting together Process Flow Sheets and Process Flow Diagrams, along with all supporting calculations (energy and mass balances, equipment sizing, batch calculations etc)
• Producing process engineering documents such as Process Description, Operating and Control Philosophy, Basis of Design, Main Plant Item List, Batch Schedule etc
• Assessing the technical risk and taking appropriate design measures to mitigate and/or reduce risk in the process and/or plant design
• Consider process safety in all plant and process design, equipment selection, ensuring compliance to ATEX/DSEAR regulations where needed
• Taking part in Hazard Identification Studies, Process Hazard Reviews, Hazardous Area Classification
• Ensuring plant design meets business requirements and scope and are in line with technical and quality plan From June 2010 to Present (5 years 6 months) Process Engineer - Technical Support/Contractor Enquiries @ In these two roles, I applied the company’s technology and products through new plant design, specification, operation and technical use of catalysts on ammonia, methanol and hydrogen plants. My work included:
• Delivering catalyst bed designs and technical quotations based on customer specifications
• Performing dataset evaluations and providing operational advice on catalyst performance and life predictions
• Managing key account customers providing all round catalyst support
• Carrying out site work such as field data collection, catalyst discharge and loadings, start ups of sensitive material
• Training of new engineers on and off site
• Checking and validating other engineers’ design and field work
• Modelling of customer plants (HYSYS) for operational modifications and/or performance issues
• Troubleshooting on site to offer technical support and advice From October 2006 to August 2010 (3 years 11 months) Attachment Student @ • I conducted coating application process trials, material characterization, experiments and data analysis using statistical tools.
• Our team was awarded the Philips Spot Award for the successful swift coating implementation in mass production of about 10,000 irons/day. From 2005 to 2005 (less than a year)
