Willy Lai heads design for FileMaker, Apple's line of cross-platform business software products. Previously, Willy led design for Milk Music, Samsung's multi-device streaming radio app. Prior to Samsung, Willy led large-scale, global redesigns for PayPal, Intuit, eBay, AOL, and numerous start-ups in Silicon Valley. His designs are strategically aligned to meet user needs and business goals, and have garnered many industry awards. With a career spanning two decades, he has had in-house, agency, and consulting experience across Mobile, Tablet, Wearables, TV, and Web. Willy is profiled in the 2014 Anniversary / Inspiration Issue of Design Bureau magazine.
A frequent keynote speaker, Willy has spoken internationally about user experience design at industry conferences, corporations, and universities. Willy is a Design Mentor at Stanford University and guest lectures at UC Berkeley Extension, Academy of Art University, and UCSC Extension Silicon Valley, where he taught UX design and serves on their Advisory Board. Willy holds a degree in Architecture from UC Berkeley's College of Environmental Design.
