Also, various special projects for Director of IIMB and Dean of Administration From April 2012 to Present (3 years 9 months) Director of Operations @ The IMPM (now in its 17th cycle) is a consortium of five prominent management schools (initially McGill,Canada; INSEAD, France; Lancaster, U.K.; IIMB, India; Hitotsubashi, Japan) which provides an alternative to a traditional MBA for senior managers from international corporations (see www.impm.org).
Responsible for all non-academic aspects of the program including:
o writing and/or supervising the creation of the MoU and other documents establishing the legal framework of the consortium
o creating the budget framework and other administrative and logistical structures of the program
o liaising with the Directors/Deans of the participating schools and the representatives (usually the V.P. of HR) of the corporations sending participants to the program
o On-site at all the modules, overseeing the local coordinators at each school to ensure the proper functioning of the program From 1996 to 2002 (6 years) Vice President, Production @ At the time, one of the largest Canadian producers of family programming for the international market
1991-1992 Vice-President, Production
As Executive in Charge of Production for live-action projects, set up two half-hour pilots, both of which were picked up as series; supervised the post production on numerous series; and produced various projects including the official film of the first international stunt festival held in Toulouse, France.
1988-1990 Managing Director, Cinar Animation Studio
Head of the studio which employed a staff of up to 120 people including storyboard artists, character designers, and background artists. Overall responsibility for running the studio as well as relations with co-producers in Europe and sub-contractors in Japan and Taiwan
In addition, worked closely over the entire period from 1988-1992 with the Vice-President, Finance, to prepare CINAR's annual Business Plan, which was used to attract outside investment in the company. Also worked closely with Federal and Provincial government agencies relating to various applications for investment, official co-production status, and accreditation for Québec or Canadian content. From 1988 to 1992 (4 years) Director of Planning and Corporate Affairs @ Telefilm Canada is a government agency that provides support for the production and distribution of Canadian films and television programs. Its budget at the time was over $100,000,000.
The Director of Planning was a member of Telefilm’s Executive Committee, with responsibility for policy development and relations with Federal and Provincial government departments and national and regional industry associations. From 1984 to 1987 (3 years) Director General of Distribution @ The NFB is one of Canada’s premier federal cultural agencies, responsible for producing and distributing films to interpret Canada to Canadians and to people internationally. The Distribution Branch was responsible for all marketing of NFB products in both official languages. It had 30 offices in Canada and 5 international offices, a budget of over $15Mn ($45Mn in today’s dollars) and approximately 300 permanent employees.
The Director General was the senior management position in the Branch, with final responsibility for the development and execution of all policies, plans and activities, and was a member of the Executive Committee of the NFB. From 1979 to 1984 (5 years)
