Developed and closed the first India originated deal in 58 years for Pfizer by successfully closing the Vetnex animal health acquisition to deliver market leadership for Pfizer. Involved in all aspects of deal from management team discussion, due diligence and agreement finalization and closure.2. Lead the Pfizer India BD team to closure on 3 licensing and near closure on 1 acquisition deal which has significant revenue and strategic implications. The lead originations were directly due to my proactive efforts and contacts and translated to an exclusive period for Pfizer to evaluate these leads3. Responsible for leading the business and commercial operations for Pfizer India. Closed 2 deals and identified several leads which resulted in 3 other deal closures. 2. Lead the inorganic growth strategy project with Mckinsey. Specific objectives were to determine Zydus’ 2010 aspiration, define the scale of M&A, assess funding capabilities, prioritise markets and shortlist potential candidates.3. Lead the process for several EU and Latin American targets including preliminary bid, due diligence (coordinating business, financial, legal and technical diligence), management negotiations and binding bids. From January 2005 to August 2006 (1 year 8 months) General Manager - Business Development @ Dr. Reddy's Laboratories 1. Initiated, finalized and managed the global Pliva alliance for Dr. Reddy’s which has peak sales potential of $ 200 mn +. This was the first major alliance for Dr. Reddy’s and involved splitting the world into exclusive, semi-exclusive and non-exclusive markets. The deal merged the strengths of both organizations and gave Dr. Reddy’s option to market these products on their own in the semi-exclusive and non-exclusive markets.2. Identified, finalized and managed the technology transfer for few biotechnology products with Cardinal Health subsidiary. This involved finalizing complex contract with milestone payments linked to specific deliverables and assistance with scale up at Indian facilities.3. P&L responsibility for oncology and biotechnology domestic business for an interim of 1 year (~ $ 20 mn) From January 2002 to January 2005 (3 years 1 month) DGM - Non Electrics Category & NPD @ Sara Lee Godrej 1. P&L responsibility for Non Electrics category (~ $ 50 mn)2. Delivered 30% sales from new products in 2 years.3. Set up a process for developing new products and improve existing products to improve the speed of commercialization of R&D projects. From May 1999 to January 2002 (2 years 9 months) Business Development Manager @ Cargill India Identified and assessed opportunities for Cargill food’s business in India via acquisitions - Evaluated seven acquisition candidates starting from strategic long term fit for Cargill From May 1997 to April 1999 (2 years)
