My passion is to find ways to improve quality of life for people living with chronic diseases working together with patients, families and clinicians to create meaningful experiences on, “How to live well with the disease until one dies”.Clinical Administrator @ • Act as an advocate for the Graduate Practice Program • Assist with development and assessment of clinical education with the faculty and Assistant Dean • Coordinate, development, communication, scheduling, and problem solving with the clinical education component of the graduate practice programs curriculum • Ensure quality clinical experiences by coordinating the evaluation of clinical sites and preceptors • Collect and analyze site evaluations and submit a report to the Assistant Dean • Identify and obtain agreements for clinical practice sites for graduate students From October 2014 to Present (1 year 3 months) FAUSC Community Development Coordinator @ The grant is funded by Palm Healthcare Foundation to develop a pilot simulation training program for Certified Nurse Assistants (CNAs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) who are working in long term care facilities located in Palm Beach County Community. • Identify potential funding opportunities including grants that match the focus areas for development in the university. • Gather information to articulate project proposal development with key grant makers in collaboration with colleagues for a based community project. • Exceptional grant writing and editing skills: letters of intent, grant proposals and reports for submission, including required documentation and budgets. • Build partnership with community healthcare providers: medical directors, administrators, director of nursing of hospitals, nursing homes and long term care facilities. • Present projects effectively to a variety of audiences to visualize the project concepts and goals. • Serve as an information resource between university and community partners. • Facilitate identifying, development, and selection evaluation methods for collecting data, and designing pre-posttest questionnaires and consent forms. • Strong analytical skills particularly SPSS and EXCEL with an ability to synthesize information in a succinct description, step-by-step demonstration and full detailed explanation. From June 2014 to Present (1 year 7 months) 2013-2014 Fulbright Grant Research Study @ Through my Fulbright study/research project, I will acquire more understanding about how culture, values, and beliefs influence the decision to choose palliative care and not pursue curative treatment. What is the Filipino perspective about dignified dying? Family plays a significant role in providing support and assistance. How does the role of family and their socioeconomic status influence the decision-making process? How do nurse educators increase awareness about palliative care and culturally appropriate care among nurses? My research will provide answers to these questions among others.
