I combine my analytical mindset and creativity to develop software to solve real world problems. I love making big data simple by parsing, manipulating, and transforming it into appealing and meaningful visualizations. Every time I come across raw data, I think to myself: how can I make this insightful; how can I present this in a way in which people can and will make use out of it? I also love automating repetitive and redundant things to make things more efficient for myself and others; so we can better spend our time on things that matter.
Prior to software engineering, I was an Internet Marketing Manager. I project managed several web development projects, which included a 9+ month eCommerce project, built from the ground up with search engine, customer experience, and conversation rate optimization in mind. The project involved parsing, manipulating, and standardizing 10,000+ products from several different manufacturer and distributor feeds of all different formats so that it is presented in a uniform and cohesive manner on our client-facing web store. This was also what rekindled my interest in web development and encouraged me to transition into software engineering.
