Hmmm.. yes, it was that indeed that infamous among the developers community back then ;)
Up next, took on the role of a software engineer(team lead) with HP/iGate doing maintennce support for a year. A stark contrast from the last job with a truly relaxing life of "waiting for something to happen". No offense but seriously, this maintenance job is truly nothing compared to the horrendous pressure of development work. How many bugs/calls can a support guy meet per month? 3, 5? I had to squash 10 a day in development environment running a schedule set by some overly optimistic top brass ;p.. that's my personal take & experiences, & I truly cannot complain with the fact of having a much easier life for around a year. But wow stalling completely is not great, got to move.
Up next was transformative. I switched out from pure technical work to becoming an apps presales consultant in 2007 with SCS. After supporting to my sales folks for a year, I had an internal-transfer to the sales team. "Da-Ta", the start of my "numbers" driven days and I embarked to drive applications related services and management. Subsequently NCS acquired SCS, and I assumed the role of Business Development Manager, title was different but oh well, everything else was pretty much the same. Tour of duty across various sectors including commercial, manufacturing & logistic sector and ending at the FSI before leaving NCS..
Presently, I'm at Procurri, the leading independent maint. provider for DC equipment and supplier of new/refurb hardware equipment in APAC... Changing the way the world buys technology!
