Metro AreaStrategic Consultancy Intern @ From March 2013 to April 2013 (2 months) London, United KingdomPolitical Strategy Consultancy Intern @ From December 2012 to December 2012 (1 month) Account Management and Corporate Consultancy Intern @ I'm working on a variety of different accounts including Disney XD, Douwe Egberts and Bigham's.
I research the client's current position in the market relative to both it's primary and secondary competitors. From this, I help devise the correct audience for the client to cater to, especially in the lead up to a new product or service launch. From November 2012 to November 2012 (1 month) London, United KingdomAccount Management and Strategic Planning Intern @ I worked with the account handlers managing clients on a day-to-day basis. I assisted with developing an in-depth understanding of the client’s marketplace, their competitor's current campaigns, their business, their objectives and worked closely with planners to translate the client’s marketing briefs into agency creative briefs. I dealt with almost every department in the agency on a regular basis: for instance, checking work going through production and monitoring timetables with creative services; liaising with the media department or agency.
I worked on a variety of different accounts including Suzuki, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, Magners, Glenfiddich and The Wall Street Journal. From October 2012 to October 2012 (1 month) Fashion, Editorial and Advertising Intern @ Fashion Department: I met with Asiana's clients on a regular basis to discuss the appropriate items needed for photo shoots, such as accessories and clothing. I chose the items for the photo shoots as well as helping creating sets for the shoots and thinking of concept ideas for promoting different products.
Editorial Department: I interviewed coming artists and influential people in the Asian community. I wrote articles based on these interviews and also conducted research into various types news regarding the Asian community. Moreover, I proof read articles which were to be published both online and on paper. I also represented Asiana at press events and product launches.
Advertising Department: I spent the majority of the internship in this department as it was the one of most interest to me. I conducted lead generation on over 100 new potential clients. Out of the firms who were interested, I created detailed market research on the new potential leads, focusing on the social-economic groups the potential clients cater to by matching it with that of the magazine's. In this, I would give possible ideas as to how an advertising campaign with Asiana will boost their business whilst research other companies that Asiana have done this for. Also, this involved conducting research into the new firm's demographics as points for a pitch. Moreover, I assisted in creating pitches for advertising campaigns for these new firms by focusing on the concentration of the market in which they were operating.
