From February 2015 to September 2015 (8 months) Mumbai Area, IndiaHead, Design @ Housing.com is one of India's fastest growing startups and top real estate portals. As the head of Design, I'm responsible for the overall User Interface and User Experience Design of the product (both web as well as mobile) and complementing services like Data Sciences Lab etc. I'm also heavily involved in recruiting new talent to grow my team into a design powerhouse. From August 2013 to January 2015 (1 year 6 months) Mumbai Area, IndiaCEO @ Conquest is BITS Pilani’s Annual Start up Challenge completely organized by a team of intrepid students.
• Leading a team of 25 spirited individuals to conduct Conquest 2013. Personally involved in fund raising and technology innovations.
• Responsible for strategic change of direction of Conquest from a startup challenge catering to very early idea stage startups to early growth stage startups.
• Maintaining & forging long term strategic partnerships with major VC firms viz. Sequoia, Nexus, Canaan, Matrix, Headland capital, Helion, Bessemer, Nirvana etc. and patron organizations viz. NASSCOM, NEN etc.
• Overhauled the technological backbone supporting Conquest. The new system improves judging and mentoring process by employing machine learning algorithms.
• Planning for Desert Hack 2013, BITS Pilani’s Annual Startup Hackathon. From October 2012 to October 2013 (1 year 1 month) Vice President @ The Center is one of the nine Centers of Excellence at BITS Pilani. It comprises of highly creative and talented people with a vision of developing an entrepreneurial mindset among the students of BITS Pilani.
As Vice President, I play an executive role in all projects of CEL focusing specially on relations with patron organizations, startups, alumni; fundraising and technical innovations.
Personally, I am involved with the following projects:
• Conquest 2013, BITS Pilani’s Annual Startup Challenge.
• Epsilon 2013, Intra-BITS idea challenge.
• Desert Hack 2013, BITS Pilani’s Annual Startup Hackathon.
• Founder Dating, a platform to connect BITSian ideators, developers & designers. From September 2012 to October 2013 (1 year 2 months) Group Leader @ Oasis is the annual pan-India cultural festival of BITS Pilani which witnesses over a 4000 participants in more than 70 events, and a budget exceeding 50 lacs.
Dept. of Publications & Correspondence is described as the face of BITS Pilani outside BITS. The dept. is responsible for publicizing the fest across all colleges of India and nearby countries and handling all responsibility of choosing participants.
Personally, I was leading the following groups:
• Design: Lead a group of 5 talented designers to create an array of popular posters and publicity material for the various events of Oasis 2012, which were displayed in more than 650 colleges across the country.
• Correspondence for Delhi: Was personally in-charge of the south campus of Delhi University and other colleges in Delhi that accounted for more than half of the total participants of Oasis 2012. From May 2012 to November 2012 (7 months) UI Architect @ McNally Bharat Engineering Company Ltd. (MBE) is one of the leading Engineering Companies in India engaged in providing turnkey solutions in the areas of Power, Steel, Aluminium, Material Handling, Mineral Beneficiation, Pyroprocessing, Pneumatic handling of powdered materials etc.
As an UI Architect, I was working with the Center of Excellence (R&D) to organize the flow of information in data intensive forms that are used for automating complex designs. I helped in the creation of an overhauled interface that facilitated data input directly in the 3D models thereby reducing errors and entry time by 25%. From June 2012 to July 2012 (2 months) Kolkata Area, IndiaUI Architect @ Gharpay is a doorstep payment network with a human face. They allow consumers to shop online without needing a credit/debit card. Gharpay enables this with technology focussed solutions.
As an UI Architect, I was responsible for the creation of the UI/UX for a mobile payment application. The design process was handled using Balsamiq & Adobe Photoshop and followed the latest design principles set by Google for Android. The coding process involved some major challenges as the app depended heavily on a brilliant UX. From May 2012 to July 2012 (3 months) Team Leader @ Stimulus-X is an entrepreneurship game hosted on Facebook which helps to encourage and
hone entrepreneurial skills by simulating start-ups and implements a unique financial model
to do real time valuations of the ventures.
As the team leader, I was involved in the following fronts:
• Frontend: Stimulus-X utilized HTML5 driven WebGL by using the Impact JavaScript Game-
Engine along with CAAT (Canvas Advanced Animation Toolkit) and implements the
Facebook Graph & Fluid Canvas APIs.
• Design: The characters and environments were developed as vectors in Adobe Illustrator for full
resolution scalability.
• Backend: The valuation model, designed using PHP & Redis, mainly focused on the key
value drivers of the start-up and also comparing the earnings and asset pricing of the
start-up. From September 2011 to April 2012 (8 months) UI Architect @ Framebench is a real time visual review and tracking solution to help you get quick reviews and feedback on the images and designs you produce both internally and with your clients. It effectively tracks these iterations so that you can get work done much faster and stay on top of expectations and deadlines.
As the UI Architect, I was part of the team in its very early ideation phase and was responsible for the creation of the UI for the first pre-alpha product, From March 2011 to March 2012 (1 year 1 month) Co-founder & CTO @ Xplorer was/is an attempt to revolutionize the way India chooses to travel. By that we don't mean modus operandi, but we exist to solve the problem of "where". The main aim is to harness the power of data mining and artificial intelligence to build an online trip recommendation engine. The thrust is on making this tool as intuitive and easy to use as possible.
As the CTO, I was responsible for the UI/UX design and the programming of the recommendation engine. From April 2011 to February 2012 (11 months) Design Intern @ The dplay lab is a design + research enterprise; an intellectual toolbox that favors a computational and technological engagement with the design object; enabling the invention and production of cultural and high performance techno-rational artifacts across domains of Architecture, Interaction and Industrial design.
As an intern at dplay, I was involved in the rebranding process of the organization. From May 2011 to August 2011 (4 months) UI Intern @ Sunglass.io is a cloud based platform to collect and deliver micro-innovations through a low barrier and ubiquitous channel for designers across the globe.
I was involved in the ideation and wireframing phase of a revolutionary UI for collaborating platforms. From May 2011 to August 2011 (4 months) UI Architect @ Anaya focuses on Computer Graphics software development to facilitate creative work flows.
As the UI Architect for their product Protean D, I was involved in the design and coding of the UI. From December 2010 to August 2011 (9 months) Designer @ Focused on the creation of brand identities & web development. From February 2011 to May 2011 (4 months)
