I only believe in working on things that will make a deep and meaningful impact on the world. Sometimes that involves going against permission. I only work with people who are incredibly positive, have ferocious ambition and are motivated by having something to prove. I've had some success, and lots of failure, but have never lost sight
I only believe in working on things that will make a deep and meaningful impact on the world. Sometimes that involves going against permission. I only work with people who are incredibly positive, have ferocious ambition and are motivated by having something to prove. I've had some success, and lots of failure, but have never lost sight of what i want. End goal: Be a successful serial entrepreneur and investor, and build (at least one, preferably more) lasting, enduring businesses worth over $1Bn.

*taking a break from investing to focus on a new venture
I pick investments based on founder psychology, the intensity and quality of the team's work product, size and evolving dynamics of the proxy market, and contrarian signals such as the level of misunderstanding by upstream investors at the initial stages versus later on. I don't need consensus to invest.
I'm most excited by investments that follow several fundamental theses for human advancement, because I deeply believe in them as absolute human needs.
a) Transactional Infrastructure
b) Life Extension
c) Intelligence Amplification:
I'm typically one of the first investors in companies, and help entrepreneurs remove risk in order to attract more illustrious and well known co-investors. My experiences have allowed me to develop a methodology to protect and help companies to make them more valuable, which is reflective in my track record so far.
Investments to date:
a) Transactional Infrastructure: Enabling infrastructure of physical and digital economies

In 2013, Quid was named the No. 2 Big Data company in the world by Fast Company From April 2009 to February 2015 (5 years 11 months) Advisory Board @ Helped start this fine organization at a time that the european ecosystem was in its infancy. Working with Saul Klein and Reshma Sohoni, I was the "prototypical young entrepreneur" Seedcamp was made for. Came up with the format for seedcamp week, and helped hustle space at Imperial despite not having permission. Also served on the original company selection committee which was a great first experience in picking companies worth investing in.

Product won top 10 innovations in recruiting by Recruiter Magazine in 2008, together with LinkedIn.
Raised $1.65M from Index Ventures, Y Combinator, Googlers (Chris Sacca, Andrea Zurek, Paul Buchheit, Aydin Senkut, Robby Walker, Wayne Crosby), Garrett Camp (stumbleupon), The Accelerator Group (Saul & Robin Klein), Jeff Clavier (Sofftech VC), Naval Ravikant, Auren Hoffman, Pejman Nozad, Betaworks (Andy Weissman & John Borthwick), Tom Cole, Jonah & Noah Goodhart.
Lesson: Don't be too early to market. Market timing counts. 2008 recession meant customers weren't buying experimental ad products. Interesting how every other company we competed with also failed to grow. Gave almost $1M back to investors. Learned a hell of a lot about how to do it next time - key lessons on team, culture, fundraising, focus, product design, positioning, enterprise sales, hiring and operations.
