As a Human Resources Intern I was able to learn how to develop and manage employee processes for an organization that has 150+ employees and is actively engaged with hiring. This included screening background checks, managing the applicant flow process, the onboarding and orientation processes, benefits enrollment, employee records retention, and team member programs.
As a part of the internship I had the opportunity to take over the role of Office Manager. In this role I increased community involvement in the church's activities through recruiting volunteer assistants to the Office Manager, continued to improve the volunteer handbook and oversaw the development for how to open a Mars Hill Church office. I maintained a professional and hospitable office building for approximately 50 staff, directed all inbound and outbound mail and courier services, and managed the public phone line and email system.
