Sears Canada, a publically traded company on the Toronto stock exchange, engaged me to re-envision their Women’s Apparel business. My mandate was to protect the profitable aspects of the retail, catalogue and E- Commerce businesses, while layering on initiatives to attract a new customer and drive consumers from our cosmetics, home and hard lines departments into apparel. Exclusive brand launches were negotiated with Liz Claiborne, Jones New York, Ellen Tracy, and Calvin Klein, along with the re-launch of the "Attitude" and "Nevada" private label collections during my tenure.
Complete profit and loss responsibility.
Note: full P/ L responsibility for Lands End, and La Redoute / Together and Somewhere catalogue businesses were additions to my portfolio From 2008 to October 2011 (3 years) Brand Launch @ New York / Montreal
An association with a major international manufacturer of exclusive eveningwear brands that includes Badgley Mischka and JS Collection. The initial focus was the launch of Citrine Collection into the international market. This was accomplished by opening showrooms in New York, Montreal and Toronto, establishing and managing an agent network in the Los Angeles, Dallas, Chicago and Atlanta markets, and attendance at key tradeshows. In addition, a strong private label development business was achieved, along with an extensive on-air presence with the Home Shopping Network, and a major branded product initiative with Dillard’s Department Stores. In addition, the product development of Badgley Mischka Sportswear was a secondary challenge added, with distribution at Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdales and Nordstrom. Complete corporate autonomy and full profit and loss responsibility were key aspects of my position. From 2005 to 2008 (3 years) President @ Toronto
Wing Son Garments, an international manufacturer of knitwear, for clients such as Polo Ralph Lauren, J. Crew, and Nike embarked on a comprehensive acquisition and diversification program that was the foundation of my position. The following was accomplished concurrently:
rk Stores – Masterminded the acquisition, complete rejuvenation and the ongoing expansion of an 14 store private label retail chain of contemporary women’s fashions from insolvency. Formulated and executed a new retail concept through design, merchandising, production, marketing and human resources. Further, I was personally featured on the nationally televised program, Investment Television, along with an ongoing fashion commentary position on Health and Beauty Television.
Nicole Miller –The exclusive Canadian rights were attained for this multi-division company for distribution to better specialty and department stores throughout Canada including Holt Renfrew.
Michael Brandon Men – Negotiated the entrée into the Canadian market, through venues such as Harry Rosen, Holt Renfrew, and the Hudson Bay Company, for this Los Angeles based manufacturer of men’s sportswear.
In addition to controlling retail, wholesale, and merchandise initiatives, working closely with both Divisional and Corporate CFO’s in representing the viability and profitability of my corporate unit was integral in the management and expansion of these businesses. rk Stores volume was increased by 40% with its evolution of concept, and all stores were operating profitably at the time of my exit from the company. The wholesale enterprises were both start-up initiatives for the Canadian market. From 1999 to 2005 (6 years) President - International Business @ New York
One Year Consulting Role

From 1998 to 1998 (less than a year) President @ Montreal / New York
Long term strategic planning and complete profit and loss responsibility was the challenge associated with the launch and subsequent management of Calvin Klein Khakis. Complete market saturation was achieved through traditional wholesaling and the installation of an extensive “shop in shop” retail program. Further, domestic production was sourced and developed for a majority of the product line, and ultimately became the supply chain for several South American licensees. The day-to-day management of Calvin Klein Jeans – Kids, was an added responsibility during my tenure. From 1995 to 1998 (3 years) President @ Shanghai, China / Los Angeles / New York
A founding position, managing a joint venture partnership with the Chinese government, manufacturing woven linen and silk apparel. Responsibilities included the sourcing and management of all facets of production, quality control and shipping for customers that included Perry Ellis USA, Saks Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdale’s, and Club Monaco.
