20+ years of senior leadership experience in academic healthcare facilities, operations, and construction. Proven performance as a corporate-level leader with strong facilities, construction, and strategic planning skills. Recently returned to the U.S. to assist Jacobs Engineering with healthcare construction opportunities. Previously, as the Regional Healthcare Director Saudi Arabia, partnered with Nesma & Partners to build 5-hospitals for the Saudi Arabian National Guard... simultaneously (5 hospitals in 4 separate cities). Prior to that, rescued a faltering project to build the $2.6 billion Cleveland Clinic Hospital in Abu Dhabi. Primary strength is managing large, complex opportunities that demand team-building and leadership.
Healthcare Project Director @ Recently returned to the United States after 3 successful years of completing major complex projects and starting new hospital construction projects in the Middle East. Actively working with Jacobs to pursue new healthcare construction projects and apply my healthcare facilities, construction, code compliance, and hospital operations to existing hospital projects. From October 2015 to Present (3 months) Greater St. Louis AreaJacobs' Program Director - SANG Hospital Project @ As the Regional Medical Director for Jacobs headquartered in Saudi Arabia, Mobilized 30 of the Cleveland Clinic’s top team to build 5-hospitals for the Saudi Arabian National Guard, partnering with Nesma & Partners. The Jacobs team is providing Healthcare leadership across the 5 sites to ensure Nesma & Partners success as the project contractor. This $2.4 billion projects requires us to build 5 specialty hospitals simultaneously in 4 separate cities, dealing with multiple jurisdictions and inspection authorities.
Just getting this project out of the ground and moving forward was a major undertaking while trying to build to U.S. standards and also meeting LEED accreditation for one of the first "Green" hospital projects in Saudi Arabia. Our challenges included coordinating design with an Egyptian design firm unfamiliar with U.S. hospital code requirements (JACHO), suppliers struggling to meet quality requirements, and the ever present language barrier between leadership, on-site supervision, and 20,000 daily workers across the 5 sites. Rewarding yet challenging circumstances at every turn.
