From June 2015 to Present (7 months) Amplify Director + In-House Counsel @ I led the IDEO.org Amplify program, which aims to redesign international aid by making it more collaborative and more human-centered. Amplify is a joint venture with IDEO.org, DFID and OpenIDEO.
I also practiced tiny bits of law as IDEO.org's In-House Counsel. From August 2011 to May 2015 (3 years 10 months) Co-founder @ Project Repat purchased amazing t-shirt castoffs from secondhand markets around the world, brought these spectacular t-shirts home, and then rebranded and resold the shirts in the United States in support of nonprofits active in the developing world. At Project Repat, we harnessed the power of your old t-shirt to support developing world markets far away and local nonprofits around the corner. From September 2010 to September 2011 (1 year 1 month) Executive Director @ Smallbean built sustainable computer labs supplying solar powered laptop computers and an innovative technology skills curriculum that empowered local communities to document and preserve endangered cultures and languages.
The Smallbean mission centered on the Citizen Archivist Project, which attempted to solve two major problems caused by the rapid expansion of technology in the 21st Century: 1) the technology gap; and 2) the devastating pace of linguistic and cultural extinction throughout the developing world. From June 2009 to August 2011 (2 years 3 months) Greater Boston AreaSenior Associate @ Senior Associate in the Litigation and Securities Departments at a prominent Boston law firm with a focus on white collar criminal and civil litigation and internal compliance / regulatory matters. From June 2007 to July 2009 (2 years 2 months) Law Clerk @ Law clerk in judicial chamber overseeing trial of four military officers accused of genocide in Rwanda. From November 2008 to January 2009 (3 months) Associate @ Associate in the Commercial Litigation Group of a major Baltimore law firm. From 2005 to 2007 (2 years) Investigator @ Civilian investigator of allegations of police misconduct by the New York City Police Department. From 2000 to 2002 (2 years)
