Designed the initial product strategy, development plan, and 18-month rolling product release schedule for a project with an initial $5mil budget.
Worked with an onshore/offshore development team in Bangalore to write product requirements, use cases, and information architecture documents, and managed the program schedule.
Recruited a 10-person staff including: Sales Director and sales associates, Marketing Director, Technology Manager, Product Manager, Content Manager/Writer, and other support personnel. From November 2006 to May 2008 (1 year 7 months) VP Institutional Sales - Standard Retirement Services @ Started an institutional sales group to sell Invesmart's 401(k) advisory and recordkeeping solutions to large national brokerage & advisory companies. Company was acquired by Standard Insurance in June of 2006. From January 2006 to November 2006 (11 months) VP General Manager - Ameritrade Corporate Services @ Founded and managed Ameritrade Retirement Services and Ameritrade Corporate Services, units that deliver brokerage & retirement services to corporations, non-profits and government entities.
Developed the product strategy that led to the development of numerous innovative brokerage products, including: The Ameritrade Retirement Account, Ameritrade’s IRA Rollover and Rollover Service Center, [email protected] and OnMoney Advisor.
Led the successful sales effort to establish Ameritrade as the premier provider of self-directed brokerage services to the retirement industry by successfully negotiating distribution agreements with the leading retirement software providers, 401(k) providers, as well as leading financial custodians.
Designed the work-flow process to create the 401(k) industry’s first next-day cross-institution IRA rollover and established a distribution network through 401(k) custodians and TPAs.
Established the Ameritrade Advisor-TPA Network to channel 401(k) sales opportunities to a roster of high-quality TPAs on a revenue share basis.
Assisted in the design of Amerivest, an online advice offering, and led the effort in the retirement space. From October 2000 to July 2005 (4 years 10 months) VP Business & Strategy Development @ Led Sales & Strategy for Nelson Information and other retirement products offered by Thomson Financial.
