National Edward R. Murrow and 12 time Mid-America Emmy award-winning Digital Storyteller, Hangout Host and VR Storyteller. Sarah was the world's first journalist to use a Google+ Hangout on TV and she continues to be fascinated by the power of Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, See-Commerce and Human Media: living, breathing, social media. Whether it's 360 Storytelling or hands-free live-streaming with Google Glass, Virtual and Augmented Realities are two mediums in which Sarah likes to create. A former interactive news anchor at the NBC affiliate in Columbia, MO, her team at KOMU-TV pioneered the use of multi-way video chat during a newscast. Through that experience, Sarah learned the value of Human Media and eye contact online. As Chief Storyteller at Veterans United Foundation, she told stories about Veterans and military families and used Human Media to give a voice to military charities. Her company, StoryUP 360 captures reality in Virtual Reality. Currently, Sarah is collaborating with the Virtual Reality (VR) industry on HonorEverywhere 360.com, an immersive experience for terminally ill and aging Veterans not able to physically travel to see their memorials. Sarah's reporting has taken her around the world. She's covered the aftermath of the 2004 Tsunami in Sri Lanka and Indonesia and produced documentaries in Vietnam and Guatemala on the world's mobility problem. She likes running, Cheerios, and practical jokes. Do NOT eat her powdered donuts.

Chief Storyteller @ We capture reality in Virtual Reality. StoryUp VR is a digital storytelling studio that uses technology to marry words with 360-degree video in a way that creates empathy. Using Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, Live, and even good old fashioned 2D video, StoryUp VR uses spherical video to foster better understanding of situations in the world that hurt our hearts. Storytelling is a powerful tool to foster compassion. Combined with 360- degree, 3D video and positional audio, these immersive experiences can transport people to places they might not otherwise be able to visit in person. VR Journalism and the emergence of head mounted displays are allowing Digital Storytellers to create for a new screen that never ends. No longer does a video frame confine the viewer. The Story is all around us...up, down...everywhere. To harken back to the era of Christopher Columbus, the world is not flat. It's round! Let's StoryUp™!
