For the past year, I have been interning remotely for Impostor Pictures. This unconventional internship afforded me the opportunity to work with an amazing team of LA-based filmmakers (Fred Berger, Eric Garcia) while finishing my senior year in Miami. My responsibilities have involved:
• Reading scripts
• Writing coverage
• Managing filming and festival schedules
• Assisting with pre-production and production for the films THE AUTOPSY OF JANE DOE (director André Øvredal, starring Emile Hirsch, Brian Cox) and LA LA LAND (director Damien Chazelle, WHIPLASH).
Prior to that, I interned for distribution company Meyers Media Group (MMG) at the 66th Annual Cannes Film Festival and gained extensive knowledge about the post-production process. At MMG I:
• Learned the mechanics of split-right deals
• Participated in distribution deals
• Networked with powerful executives
• Helped out with everyday administrative tasks.
After returning to the states, I interned at Michael Nardelli’s indie production company Taggart Productions (THE GIANT MECHANICAL MAN, ANOTHER HAPPY DAY) in West Hollywood. At Taggart I:
• Researched story ideas
• Pitched scripts to executives
• Learned how to navigate Los Angeles efficiently
• Wrote coverage
• Helped executives form partnerships with other production companies
