Programmer. Solderer. Entrepreneur.
Venture Partner @ From January 2015 to Present (1 year) Entrepreneur in Residence @ From April 2014 to Present (1 year 9 months) Founding Team Member and Engineer @ Worked on the initial swipe algorithm, and continues to maintain and improve this algorithm on iOS. Worked on further concepts and signal processing on new Square swipers. Worked on the iOS app, including one of three engineers who worked on the first version of the Square iPad app. Currently working on our Ruby on Rails web app, working on surfacing new metrics to make decisions. From September 2009 to September 2013 (4 years 1 month) Design and Analysis Engineer @ I worked on and designed multiple applications for testing weapon systems, including tests for GPS, fin deployments on bombs, and pressure release systems on weapons carriages.
Also began work on upgrading current integrated weapon system networks to use Fibre Channel instead of an aging MIL standard that is similar to ethernet (but with a vastly smaller addressing space).
I also designed the signal routing harness on several classified subsystems, and coordinated the deployment of military software upgrades (a thing that's not easily accomplished as an Apple Software Update).
Software implementations used C++, MFC, and Ada. From November 2008 to December 2009 (1 year 2 months) Software Engineer I @ Worked with legacy systems to create dynamic, mobile sensing networks. I helped design systems to work with existing legacy architectures. From June 2008 to November 2008 (6 months)
