Senior Build and Release Engineer @ The Climate Corporation Responsible for building and maintaining systems and processes for continuous integration and deployment of mobile application, web services, and web front-end code. SeatteSDET and build wrangler @ Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Online Disney's internal app development efforts are wide and varied so I am fortunate to have a hand in many of the parks/resorts apps and their component libraries. I support multiple teams by building and maintaining app build services, an internal device cloud, multiple automation suites, consulting on test strategy, and working to improve efficiency and automatability. I am also lucky to be able to network with others who are interested in automation across multiple disciplines to build a more cohesive approach across teams, share knowledge from individual efforts, and promote new tools and techniques in the goal of improving overall product quality. My accomplishments include: building and growing the functionality of our internal device cloud and build services; assisting multiple teams in migrating from Bamboo to Jenkins; training junior engineers in automation practices such as use of the page object model and hermetic tests; working with developers and manual testers to automate repetitive processes in their workflows; helping deliver chat functionality to the Disney Cruise Lines app; and currently helping deliver a richer media experience in the Disneyland and Walt Disney World apps. From March 2014 to July 2016 (2 years 5 months) Seattle, WashingtonSDET @ Deloitte Digital SDET at a software consultancy offering mobile application and mobile optimized web services. Main projects include testing Android applications on phones and tablets using manual and automated tests. Responsible for driving deployment and usage of continuous integration systems and practices in mobile device software development and test. Designed and built out a mobile device automation test lab covering iOS and Android. Also responsible for pushing and refining automation support scope for various projects from BVTs, to static analysis, to code coverage, and stress tests.I served in the following roles: device wrangler, device lab manager, build engineer, android developer, software test engineer, QA strategist, continuous integration apologist, and Android fanboy. From April 2011 to March 2014 (3 years) Greater Seattle AreaQA Engineer @ TeachTown QA Engineer for an education software company specializing in research-supported techniques and curriculum for Autism Spectrum Disorder. Main projects include thin-client and web client testing and test automation. From May 2010 to January 2011 (9 months) STE III @ Aditi Technologies (XNA @ Microsoft) Software Test Engineer working on a Kinect-related technology under the auspices of the Microsoft Research group. It was an amazing chance to see the true vision Microsoft has for the Xbox console, the Xbox LIVE platform, and entertainment media. My team was outstanding and I must say, the most diverse collection of people I've ever had the pleasure of working along side of daily. From December 2009 to May 2010 (6 months) QA Engineer @ Big Fish Games I worked on a cross-functional team using Scrum methodology for an online social gaming site. My position influenced all aspects of the project including product design, frontend/server/database testing and helping manage eventual code deployment. From 2007 to 2009 (2 years) Software Test Engineer @ Microsoft (Volt) My official title is STE III for software test engineer lvl 3 but I test hardware and network connections as well. The product I'm working on is a major update to what was previously a feature pack in a software suite originally intended to manage networked computers. My team works on integrating Windows Mobile and Windows CE devices into that management structure. This involves testing on multiple operating systems both on the host computers and the devices themselves as well as across multiple network connection types. Typical duties include test case creation, execution and review both manually and using proprietary automation tools; some debugging in SQL, WMI, and in proprietary logging; and reporting results and entering detailed bugs using a database called Product Studio. The environment is friendly, fast-paced, team-oriented, and creative; often demanding the need to learn new skills on the fly according to opportunities during product development. From November 2006 to 2007 (1 year)
