Before leading all global search engine optimization (SEO) services for the nation’s leading digital advertising agency, SapientNitro, Rodrigo spent over 10 years in senior search marketing leadership positions at Carmichael Lynch and space150, including four years as the client delivery lead where he was responsible for the delivery of over $200 million in search marketing assets, across a global team of 20 employees, spanning 7 countries and 10 languages.
His work can be found across a variety of Fortune 500 websites, including several well-known startups from the New York City and San Francisco bay area. Some of his more successful projects can be found on the sites of the Home Depot, Travelocity, Subaru, General Motors, American Express, Bebe Outfitters, Pottery Barn, Target, Hyatt Resorts, the California Tourism Board, OLX, Hugo Boss, Dunkin Donuts, Audi, and others. With all but one account averaging over 2x growth in a span of 7 months.
And while having a background in algorithm engineering (along with simply experimenting with websites since 1996), he credits much of his success to his ability to leverage data science and visualization libraries to pinpoint the exact root of issues that can be resolved quickly, and drive shocking results. Also, having a subsidized quarter of a million dollar investment budget for tools, simulators, top-secret algorithms, and more than 1,000 “test sites” may also be a contributor to this success.
Rodrigo speaks regularly on search marketing and optimization at industry conferences and events, and teaches a variety of digital marketing courses for some of the top schools and corporations in Central and South America.

From 2009 to Present (6 years) International SEO Consultant @ I started Keyword Artists while in college in efforts to subsidize the high cost of hosting/servers, computers, and code software that ran the algorithms and machine learning programs I was creating. However, the business grew into something a little bigger than originally planned since it was launched at the same time when SEO/SEM consulting services began to be in high demand/low supply. As a result, Keyword Artists was born and quickly provided search services to a variety of small to medium businesses in Minneapolis, Wisconsin, Iowa, Chicago, and San Diego. From July 2001 to Present (14 years 6 months) Guest Lecturer, SEO & Content Strategy @ Teach a semi-annual course on SEO and Content Strategy to students pursuing a specialization in digital marketing. From October 2011 to November 2015 (4 years 2 months) Senior SEO/SEM Manager @ At Space150, I was the lead Search Manager (SEO/SEM) for the agency, working on the Dairy Queen, Anderson Windows, iMation, Schwan's Food Service, and American Express accounts, with an average traffic growth of 65-70%, with some clients growing as high as 240%. 2008 was a very exciting year in search, but there were also lots of fast moving pieces. It took lots of studying, testing, and optimizations, but after many long nights, our small search team had successfully migrated all our clients onto all of the new technologies and features at the time, like: Adwords remarketing, Adwords sitelinks, mobile SEO, social tagging, and others. From 2008 to 2009 (1 year) SEO/SEM Manager @ At Carmichael Lynch, I had the great privilege of working and building great friendships with some of the brightest people in the industry.
