Sr. Buyer / Planner @ Additional responsibilities include handling the procurement needs of a wider variety of FLIR personnel, both in Goleta, and at offsite facilities. From March 2015 to Present (10 months) Buyer / Planner @ Created and managed purchase orders of up to $1.8 million in value, based on both firm and forecasted demand. Dealt with domestic and overseas suppliers, as well as various worldwide FLIR operations. Provided delivery dates for sales orders, and managed them through product delivery, which occasionally included end customer direct contact. Managed an inventory location with a total valuation of $1.5 million, and achieved 100% inventory accuracy for 36 consecutive months. All of this was in support of a specialized make to order, high end custom systems engineering and sales team. Utilized the ERP system SAP, and interacted on a daily basis with engineering, sales, finance, quality, export / import, shipping / receiving, and production to achieve team and company objectives. During 2012, played a key role in the team’s $7 million all time record for annual revenue. This was surpassed in 2014 with $13 million in revenue. From 2011 to March 2015 (4 years) Master Scheduler / Supervisor of Materials Control @ In addition to master scheduling duties, managed the stockroom, warehouse, and shipping and receiving areas. Fully implemented and utilized the MRP II related modules in the company’s new ERP system. Was solely responsible for the accuracy, maintenance, and output of the MPS and MRP. Provided ship date delivery commitments for all new customer orders, utilizing both available to promise and capable to promise techniques. Performed a variety of inventory management functions such as reserve analysis, obsolescence determination, physical and transacted scrap, and the maintenance of senior management required overall inventory levels.
• Managed a supply chain comprised of domestic suppliers, and an offshore supplier in China, through finished goods shipments to the various customers. This entailed handling downstream and upstream procurement and logistics issues, and the use of strategies such as major component risk pooling to improve customer response time. A customer service ratio of 99.3%, and a customer service level of 98.5%, were attained for 2009 and the first half of 2010.
• Maintained MPS and MRP flexibility despite dynamic and fast changing production environments and demand levels. Master scheduled in make to stock, make to order, and engineer to order settings on four major mixed model assembly lines. Used chase / demand matching, level production, and hybrid production planning methods to satisfy customer demand. Component availability levels were consistently at or just below 100%, and the ongoing stock out percentage was below one percent.
• Implemented a pull / backflush / line side stock system for the various work cells. Based on JIT / lean principles, this system eliminated work orders and kitting.
• Implemented a work cell / line side stock by warehouse cycle counting program. A sustained 99.7% accuracy level was achieved, which led to the elimination of 100% year end annual physical counts for four years in a row. From February 1999 to 2010 (11 years) Production Supervisor @ Directed 20 operators on a fast paced, dynamic production floor where the primary focus was the rapid completion of various prototype designs. Had complete responsibility for achieving committed shipment dates, and for assuring operator compliance with various quality control and protocol guidelines. This production floor encompassed 12 different process areas, which included advanced technology vacuum and plating clean room operations. From January 1996 to February 1999 (3 years 2 months) Prototype Supervisor / Master Scheduler @ Along with a staff of three technicians, one expediter, and one planner, assumed full ownership for the successful and timely delivery of prototype products to various key customers. This involved everything from leading engineering and business review meetings, to directing and monitoring essential factory floor management and operations personnel with regards to delivery commitments, and process demands, for each prototype order. Developed and monitored a factory daily processing goals system, and authored a “release to prototype” documentation package that served as an engineering / business checklist and scheduling tool. These items led to a 30% reduction in overall prototype cycle times, and helped the company land six key programs with a total resulting revenue of $35 million. From April 1988 to January 1996 (7 years 10 months)
