I was the CIO for DARE, which is a small, boutique real estate research and investment advisory firm focussing on distressed opportunities to institutional size clients. At InfoSpan, I was SVP Business Development, focussing on cross-border remittances for primarily unbanked populations through banking channels using card technologies. Also worked as CIO of TMT - a pattern recognition system developed to predict the stock market. Part of startup team of United Sustainable Developments (www.unidev.in), a Bangalore based sustainable real estate developer focussing on green projects delivered in a transparent ethical framework. Seed investor and Strategic Advisory Board Member of Empereal, a global solar PV+Thermal based renewable energy and water company which won the "Most Innovative Company" award from MIT in 2012 and India's Most Innovate Water company from Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry in 2013. Also work closely with an Abu Dhabi Private Family Office. From August 2007 to Present (8 years 5 months) Chief Investment Officer @ Responsible for the treasury, proprietary investments and investment banking functions of the Bank. On the management, credit & investment committees of the Bank, its Kazakhstan branch as well as the Al Hilal Takaful business. From August 2012 to May 2013 (10 months) Chief Investment Officer @ Employing a disciplined balanced approach to discretionary portfolio management, Trading Portfolio creates and manages exposures in pre-selected highly liquid and internationally traded underlyings across foreign exchange, equity, interest rate and commodity markets. Actively use proprietary fundamental and technical indicators. Active advisory role in direct investments, corporate hedging and building capabilities in quantitative market movement prediction systems. From 2010 to August 2012 (2 years) Deputy Treasurer @ Responsible for managing the balance sheet of the Bank (now the largest Bank in the Middle East), the $4bn fixed income portfolio, the external allocations of the Bank and actively assisting the Treasurer in managing the Bank's EMTN and ECP programmes. I was directly accountable for proprietary trading of all asset classes, the Islamic book of the Bank and for building the Treasury Sales & Distribution network to nearly 200 corporates within 2 years. My team was also responsible for building the structured products trading book into a multi-billion dirham activity. From January 2004 to April 2007 (3 years 4 months) Investment Officer @ Responsible for internal tactical asset allocation. Significant independent authority to take positions across all major asset classes and geographies. Worked on consolidating risk - return profiles for global external allocations for the office. Was also involved in designing financial plans for large projects and for exiting investments across different sectors as a part of an evolving - and changing - role within the Ruler's Office. From 2001 to January 2004 (3 years) Chief Dealer @ Started in currency trading, and went on to head the spot & forwards desk in Dubai. Built the entire regional (MENA) currency, deposit and interest rate trading and sales activity from scratch into a business having 135 institutional customers from 34 countries in 2 years. Established Dubai as the hub for all Middle Eastern exposures for SCB globally. Formally recognised as One of Top 10 Employees across Middle East & South Asia. From 1996 to 2001 (5 years) Senior Dealer @ Started as an Assistant Manager by learning how to manage the risk and operations of an active treasury doing 1000 deals daily. Went on to trade USD/INR and cross currency spots & forwards, and then as Senior Dealer, I was a key team member responsible for building one of India's Best Treasury Trading Desks in 1994-1995.
